F.Y.I and Classroom Expectations
Below you will find more information about what is going on in room 411
All students have a right to learn and a responsibility to allow others to do the same. My class room expectations for my students and I are:
Listen to instruction the first time they are given
Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself
Respect others and their property
Always raise your hand and ask permission to speak and move around the room
Do your best at all-time
Classroom Procedures (daily routine, turn in homework, centers, computer care etc.)
There is a job system. Every student has certain responsibilities. For example, the computers are put away to charge at the end of the day by our technology champions
There is a turn in bin, and students are responsible for placing assignments that need to be turned in before going home that day. Homework is also written on the board for the entire week and students are to write it down every day in their homework notebook.
For using the bathroom, students must raise their hand and go one at a time (one boy, one girl). They are to sign out and take the pass upon leaving. When they return, they will erase their name and return the pass
Behavior:
Along with the bee bucks that student get for doing the right thing throughout the day there is a money system in which students add money to their checkbook. Students get paid daily for doing the right thing and compliments and on Friday for doing their jobs. They receive bonuses for turning in all homework, perfect attendance, and staying on green, blue, pink and class compliments. If a student demonstrates exceptional behavior throughout the day, the student will move up to blue, purple or pink for additional money for the day. Students are able to redeem their money for prizes (homework passes, extra computer time etc.) at the end of the month after they pay rent.
The colors in order are:
Pink, purple, green, yellow, orange, red.
Students start each day on green and have the opportunity to move up throughout the day.
Likewise there are consequences for students who do not follow classroom expectations. If these students do not follow the rules they will clip down the chart to yellow, orange, and then red. These are the class consequences: silent lunch, taking a break in another teacher’s classroom, parent contact, and finally office referral. In addition to the consequence system the students will receive debits from their checkbook Yellow = $0 gain or taken, Orange = $1 taken, Red =$2 taken.
Behavior: Please encourage students to focus more and pay attention in class, and be mindful of their overall behavior. I will contact parents regarding specific behaviors. Please continue to reinforce positive behavior at home.
Regular Conference times are as follows:
Tuesday-Thursday from 2:30-4:00 pm.
Grading Scale:
60-69% -1
70-79% -2
80-90% -3
91-100% -4
Wish List: Please send in the following items if possible: fruit snacks, or healthy treats for rewards, whiteboard markers, scissors, glue sticks, small pencil sharpeners or an electric sharpener. Thank you.
Please check your student’s daily grades/work and make comments if needed, as well as sign off on homework/notes inside their homework notebook.
-Let's continue to communicate regularly and work together to help our students to improve.
